Monday
Are you kidding me? Because I would be pretty pissed if that was all I got from my man.
Everything about this is creepy, including that dude.
Whaaaaaa?!
A quilted Chanel flapbag on eBay, current bid being $130?????? With only 1.5 days left??? OMGZ.
That botch is gonna be super expensive pretty soon...at least one would think so...

I got katz on dah brain
(Clearly; this is the 4th post in a row about cats.) Decided to compile some of my more recent favorites from Linus in Hats:
"HULKAMANIAAAAAAAA, BROTHER"
"cookies cookies cookies cookies cookies cookies cookies"
"CANDY PLZ."
"wise man say: forgiveness is divine, but never pay full price for late pizza!"
"WEEKEND WARRIORS!!!!!"
holy ballz
I was originally going to post about this video, which totally cracked out my Monday in all the right ways. But I then discovered the following, and so goes recent history. This cat is genius! And I would give him my love...
found via Gordon Gartrelle, the blog of 1/2 of Das Racist
And the Russian version is definitely worth watching, since there are some added (Slavic) cultural references (and to preface the translation: "Dear Perfect Russian-Speaking Stranger, Internet strangers helped me translate my message of international understanding. This is my Валентинка для братьев по-разуму [Valentine for Brothers Differently]. Love, Otto")...
But anyway, if you're bored at any point today, you should totally watch the first video for some Italian Futurism humor (thank you, art history degree)...and because it's F'N CRAZY...

It's Monday... Anyone know some good jams for the week?
Here's what Jo Cheung was digging a couple of weeks ago (I had to post this b/c of the cat, duh...):
Any jams that have been on your mind lately? Besides Gaga, of course (another "duh" statement, I know)...
Sunday
New Kate Funk!
Huzzah! Some new cards are up in Kate's store! ...and AC is one of my favorite black kitties...

How awesome is his face in that last one?
Here's another one of my favorite black kitties, venturing home after the holidays:

Cuuuuute.
I'm at the Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell
Just heard this jam at a dance partay Friday night, and it's my new fave:
My friend Lauren and I were so inspired that we worked out our own repetitive jams to record; keep it locked for the drop of our EP early next year...

Scanwiches
I know Scanwiches has been around the webpages for some time now, but I'm finally getting around to posting about it. The best idea ever for a blog, and the images are fantastic.

That last one's an ice cream sandwich. Yum.
Saturday
Me thinks this cries out "creative Christmas present"
Why, you're so welcome, brothers.

Btw, you should go and check out Ileana's Tumblr. With so many lovely visual finds, she does justice to the format.
Mette's other blog
When she's not busy giving birth to and taking care of this gorgeous little one, Mette manages her two blogs. Ungt Blod is an all-time fav, but I've become an admirer of oh., as well. I love the simplicity of the latter blog's concept, where you can anonymously post a mistake you've made (and regret), and have your mistake be subsequently "set free" in its admission. I can think of a million things I'd like to get off my chest...
Friday
I want to be her friend and wear her clothes
Found a lovely find on the internet the other day; so who knew that way over in Minneapolis, MN there were people with an awesome taste in prints? They probably already knew that, but the farthest west I've ever been was Chicago (sad, I know). And what am I saying?! I've been living in DC for the past 18 months, land of Banana Republic and J.Crew... But anyway, check out the designs of Annie Larson below. She used to design for Target, but is now devoting her time to her own styles (tres cool). And I love anyone with a partiality to imaginative prints and bright-ass colors:
via Swank Dollar (Annie's blog)
And check out the awesome Harvest Feast she and her friends had last weekend. Note to self: need to do something like this in the future.
Carly Waito
I'm in love with all of the images from Carly Waito's blog, and am adding it to the blogroll. Makes me want to visit Canada again sometime soon...

And I really would love to own one of her paintings. Photorealism never ceases to amaze me...

She also has an upcoming show at Narwhal Art Projects. Wish I could go!
I'm still sick of traveling
I'm off to troll around various parts of the East Coast for the next couple of days--sans computer--so I've set up some posts via Blogger with entertaining crap I've found in the wee hours of the morning whilst in Pennsylvania (prepositions, ja?). I hope you do enjoy, and I will return promptly to the interwebs Sunday evening, provided I'm not too distracted by my Sunday night T.V. lineup, or by my arthritic family dog, Maggie.
Tarry Ho!
(I don't know what that means, and apparently neither does Google, but it sounded appropriate/right to me)

Forgotten Bookmarks: Julia Pott's "My First Crush"
I'm borrowing this title from someone (I forget who), since I think it's appropriate for some of the stuff I rediscover months after they've been originally bookmarked.
At any rate, I love this video and find it so sweet. I know it's old news, but it's being posted.

American Thanksgiving for non-Americans
I found this website via some dbag's Twitter that I kinda know from Urban Outfitters. I don't like Twitter, nor do I like him, but I do like this website. So in honor of the holiday, here's an educational selection I enjoyed that I thought others might, as well:
How someone with an American public-school education who didn't really pay much attention in class but learned just enough to pass exams imagines the first Thanksgiving.

PILGRIM: Happy First Thanksgiving. Thank you for having us to your tepee.
INDIAN: How!
(The INDIAN holds his hand in the air with his palm facing out.)
INDIAN: That means "Hello" in Indian.
PILGRIM: We came here on the Mayflower. It is that big ship over there. It has nothing to do with the Niña, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria. That is something else completely.
INDIAN: We are having a powwow; it is like a meeting.
(PILGRIM takes a bite of food.)
PILGRIM: This is good. What is it?
INDIAN: That is corn. It is also called maize.
PILGRIM: Yes, like a labyrinth.
INDIAN: (Mumbles something inaudible about David Bowie.)
PILGRIM: Thank you for introducing corn to me. This turkey is good, too.
INDIAN: We hunted it. We are hunters and gatherers.
PILGRIM: Excuse me one second; the buckle to my shoe has come undone.
(PILGRIM bends down and buckles his shoe.)
PILGRIM: This is a nice neighborhood.
INDIAN: It is called Plymouth Rock. It does not refer to one single rock. We are not eating dinner on some large rock sitting by the water, even though people might one day think that. We just moved here. We used to own Manhattan, but sold it for $24. They paid us in buttons and arrowheads.
PILGRIM: (Sarcastically.) Wow, $24! That, uh ... sounds like a good deal.
INDIAN: We have casinos and sell cheap cigarettes.
(INDIAN lights a peace pipe, adjusts his feather headdress.)
PILGRIM: I have a buckle on my hat, I think for no reason.

That sounds about right.

I just had to post this because of the male model
We can crop that chick right out.
Or do that. Now she looks pretty creepy; no sane dude would wanna tap that.
I love you, Steven Alan.
Wednesday
I hate traveling
Penn Station was crowded and sweltering, so good thing I bought myself some special presents or I would have been super aggravated. But life was not so swell for this one:
She tossed some cookies in her traveling bag and smelled foul. Poor Dobberz.
Looking forward to some delicious food tomorrow. Now, I'm not a vegetarian, but Thanksgiving to me does not equate to turkey, either. I like my ham, and am thrilled my mom bought me some, in addition to a chocolate pie (since I hate pumpkin pie).
So to all my fellow Yanks, Happy Thanksgiving! Don't get all comatose on L-tryptophan. To everyone else, happy Thursday!
Tuesday
New Bekväm!
How adorable are Hannah's two new dresses? They look so luxurious! They'll be up in her shop tomorrow morning at 6:30 a.m. PST, so set your clocks early, as there are only a few to go around!
via Bekväm
The dresses are sure to make whoever scores them happy; I love my own little Bekväm collection...

Tsumori Chisato for Shu Uemura, Holiday 2009
Who wouldn't want/love makeup from a collection inspired by The Little Prince? Lots of glitzern, perfect for the '09 holidays.
Does this name conjure up a less than pleasant image for anybody else, or is it just me?
Anyway, I'm currently coveting the above colors, in addition to the Planet Ribbon palette and Rouge Unlimited lipstick. Someone equated them to the "perfect stocking stuffer," but my stocking stuffers were never that expensive...
And this behind-the-scenes video is just the perfect combination of cats, kawaii, and holiday charm; it puts me in the seasonal spirit!

Monday
It has become apparent Black Friday is just around the corner...
In the inbox: both Frances May and Creatures of Comfort are having sales in light of the November festivities. All things are 20% on Friday from 12-2 p.m. at Frances May, and 15% off for the rest of the weekend; just use code "thanks09." Over at Creatures of Comfort, "most Fall/Winter items" are 25% off through Thursday with the code "special25." It's a good thing I've checked into reality for the time being, or I might have been tempted by some Rachel Comey footwear or that Acne cardigan I've had my eye on for some time...
This reminds me of...
...a men's swimsuit from the earlier part of the 20th Century. Would I ever wear it? Probably not, unless I had an awesome themed party to go to (note to self: have said awesome themed party).
Some pretty rad stirrups
Yeeees, I will accept these as a gift.

Triangles upon triangles! And that All for the Mountain necklace is also on my wishlist, imaginary boyfriend...
