Sunday

from a 9-yr-old to me at the Zoo on Saturday

Weekend from hell, dudes, weekend from HELL. I had two overnight shifts at the Zoo so I thought I'd just hang out Saturday in my car (where I napped/was harassed by juvenile visitors...this seems the norm for me). Since I didn't have to sleep over last night, I decided I'd go home to my warm bed after we finished around 11:30 p.m.; HOWEVER, my car had other plans, as it broke down on the busy highway right outside the Zoo when I was waiting for the light to change. Commence failed attempts to jump my car/getting yelled at by the traffic cop/steering it to the side of the road till morning and hoping it wouldn't get ticketed, towed, or broken into/sleeping another night on a hard floor in an office that smells like compost. Thanking HAY-ZEUS that I have off Thursday-Sunday of this week from both of my gigs and will not see another animal besides my dog for the next two. Especially after observing a docent hike this morning in which said docent explained to a group of boy scouts that the reason the chimp ripped that lady's face off last year was because he was "feeding on her." This was after he told the story of how smoking a cigarette saved his friend's life.
