Sunday

you're invited to the cat party...

I made a video about Harold and I, a cat dress, and some new shoes. I hope you like it.

Jam: Au Revoir Simone, "The Disco Song" (but you already knew that...)

Funny thing is, when I was down in DC last weekend I was stopped for some street-style-photo-bloggage in my new cat dress. I'm hardly photogenic, and thus am a little afraid of what weird contortions my face photographically assumed (see: the photos of my face in this video), but I was flattered.

And speaking of the cat dress, can I just give a shout-out and big-up to Leah? I ordered the dress on a Sunday night, she made it according to my measurements the next day, and I had it in my hands that Thursday. Blew my mind.

Hope everyone stateside had a Happy Thanksgiving!

Thursday

felt.

I want one of these:
And one of these:
Anybody out there know someone who can make stuff like this? Because I covet and am game.

So many lovely items and photos available and featured in the shops (a + b + c) and blog of Audrey Jeanne.
I only wish I could read French...

Tuesday

my Chinatown cart needs an upgrade

Bingbangboom, that simple.

And after investigating the matter further, it seems I'm the only one who calls these things "Chinatown carts." Well, I bought mine in Chinatown near where I worked in undergrad, but I still feel like an ass now... I thought that's what everyone called them!

Monday

holy crap-ass-ness. I am speechless.

This gem even comes with a complimentary cat zine.
I may or may not have just ordered this. My party dress has been a looooong time coming.

Sunday

Trois Petits Points

After about a year of being cheap and admiring from afar, I bit the bullet and bought the Trois Petits Points locket in one of its latest color manifestations.* I couldn't be happier.
If you find this creepy, you obviously need to get to know me a little better: Hi, my name's Megan. This is my imaginary boyfriend.

* Via Spartan, of course. A secondary reason for why I'm making tentative plans to visit Austin again this summer.

this was my Saturday

I asked my mom to print something off Wikipedia for me as I was running out the door this morning. The moment that was had was a moment of discovery.
See, cropping has worked wonders for Jimmy's latest campaign. Remember the one Wiki did a few months ago with a side-shot of Jimmy looking like a bum (I don't have a link to it, but here's a full-faced version of him)? Well, it's quite clear you're seeing a new man here, and he's eyefucking you right now with a very important message: "I so want to bang you, and, no, I am not balding. Hit up my Wiki page and let's make something happen."

"We'll talk compensation later..."

Thursday

♥-y

A big-up to hearty magazine for the shout out to BDiH. I know it's not a huge deal, but I've never had crapschnitt written about something I've done, so I think it's kinda cool. BUT they do have my "masthead" misquoted, as those boners aren't just for the "straight, still-beating heart." We need to get some dead lady boners up on there, as well, and have all of our bases covered.

Gonna have to work on my craft, though, b/c I know some of those entries have been fails...meh, oh well.

And if anybody has any multicultural boners, please send those suggestions my way! My Euro-centric education has left me with a blog filled with too many old white dudes, and the other day one of my friends told me Puyi isn't really hot and thus shouldn't be featured. I think he is! In a geeky, I-would-never-really-be-attracted-to-you-but-you're-still-kind-of-cute way.

I've got mine...

Do you have yours...?

way to go, bro

Congratulations to the second middle child, who just got offered a job at one of the Big Four auditing firms with another month left before he graduates undergrad. For those without CPA's in the family, that's kind of a big deal, working for the Big Four. And he'll be making more money than me, so go figure. Just make sure you steer away from this, Patrick. Bahahaha.

But I am proud of you. Now go buy me something nice for fixing your grad school essays and getting you accepted. I accept gifts of cash and Rachel Comey.

Wednesday

Book Week, WtLTA

Be sure to check out Mallory's book-themed posts all this week on her blog, Where the Lovely Things Are. You may see a few genre recommendations from yours truly, in addition to some other rad bloggers. Scheckitauuut. And fcuk Kindles!

Tuesday

cats and sweatshirts

I've been mega loving Allison Berg's cat designs on Flickr...
...and I would really like to see this become a reality:

I'd wear it daily.

just in case you were still on the fence about going...

...Courtney linked me to these photos from the Corduroy Appreciation Club's Grand Meeting...from four years ago. I guess corduroy tuxedos are always current.
You have only a few more days to register! Someone must go and try the corduroy beer!

LISUUUUUH FRANK

Look what I found!
Butters was more or less indifferent to the awesomeness of LF and her golden retrievers. He only likes other cotons.

Saturday

Vintage at Vintage

A few days ago I made mention of a vintage shop I indirectly work in, one I deemed a treasure trove in spite of my below-rookie status in thrifting and buying vintage. Yesterday I had the opportunity to scour the shop further, taking pictures of some of my favorite items and niches in its Doylestown locale.

The boutique, Vintage, is owned and operated by Debi, Doylestown rock star. She's hilarious and super awesome, though my ineptitude with adjectives limits my ability to adequately describe her personality. Debi buys her stock from auctions and estate sales (her items run the gamut), and everything's pretty affordable. And from what she's told me, she does a lot of business via the shop's Facebook page, which she updates regularly with photos. So if you see anything you like, send her an email...or however you communicate on Facebook these days...I am so out of touch for a 24-year-old, but it's better this way...

All of my photos are pretty self-explanatory, save perhaps for the paper doll, which happens to be of Princess Diana (who knew...). And I should mention that for anyone living in or visiting Philly, Vintage is only at the end of the R5 line...the end located in Doyelstown, obviously...
Oh, and then there's this. Though--my b--I voted for Kelly...

More photos of other rad stuff...

Friday

ALL hats!

Annie of ALL Knitwear just added some winter hats to her collection:
I'm pretty set on which one I want to order, though one of these days what I really want is the Sticker Stripe Box Top...one day, one day...

Bagpacks

From Alexandra Cassaniti. Pretty rad.
And I also wanted to apologize for ruining the PR finale for some of you guys. I read on someone's blog yesterday that I did in fact do just that, and I felt bad. I completely and wholly lack common sense (and oftentimes possess poor judgment), so you must learn to forgive me from time to time.

Wednesday

the corduroy tuxedo

"Two corduroy items must be worn."

A "short film about corduroy will be premiered" and "the beer which most closely resembles corduroy shall be revealed (and tasted)."

some things

At present, my 9-5 involves working with a young woman who volunteers at a vintage shop in Doylestown(, PA...I forget that there aren't many southeastern Pennsylvanians reading this blog who would know that). And I may not know what I'm talking about here, but that place is a gold mine. I generally avoid vintage, as I just don't have the patience for "the search" / my credit card statement tells me that I enjoy spending far more money on new stuff. That being said, I dropped more coin than I probably should have at this shop last Friday, both on the afore-photo'd necklace and this boss pinky ring. Finally stoked to be in the pinky ring club, guys, just like my obese, recovering alcoholic of an uncle. More on that later (the ring, not my extended family), and more on the vintage shop, as well, as it's w/in Regional Rail distance of my Philly kin.

And I apologize for the shot of my dried-out hands. This seasonal weather change is killing me.
Thought I'd take a picture of some delicious cupcakes I was gifted. Hope everybody had a rad Halloween.

I also chopped a good foot of brown off my head this wknd. At present I'm looking sort-of similar to these two ladies, which is pretty boss applesauce. Gina at Plume did a fantastic job.
