recent acquisitions...

...from the past few weeks:

I bought a drawing from Becca. As I've said before, I love both her aesthetic and the subject matter she depicts in her work, so methinks this is the perfect first acquisition for my original art wall...for whenever I buy a nail...and more artwork...

The lovely Cary and Jenna of Ace & Jig sent me a dress (cray-zay), which I wore--and I'm not lying--three days in a row after receiving it (to brunch, to lunch, and to work). I would model it for you like I did with my other Ace & Jig dress, but I have since realized how horrible a model I am (psych--I always knew that). Nevertheless, the dress is super comfortable, it goes with everything, and I am again amazed by the fabric they use (the geometry, the geometry!). And I'm not just saying this b/c I was sent some swag, but Ace & Jig is one of those smaller brands that I've been consistently pleased with the quality of--design-wise and materials/construction--so I'm really looking forward to the line's S/S '11 collection (crop tops! maxi dresses!).

Anorak was (and still is) having a 50% "Silly Sale," so I finally bought one of their sleeping bags, as I do overnights at the Zoo a couple of times a month. However, between the time I ordered the bag and received it, I reached the conclusion that I was 99.9% sure I would be quitting my Zoo job so I could have time off on the weekends and time to devote to a new project that's popped up. So now I have this awesome sleeping bag but no use for it. Perhaps I'll use it as an extra quilt for the living room...

Or make it into a fort...

(My mom got me those dog slippers for Christmas, in addition to a night-shirt-dress-thing that has a cat on it and says "DON'T MESS WITH MEOW".)
