Lupo in DC

In light of working an overnight at one of my former museum gigs in DC, I was able to get away and partake in a weekend of: defacing playgrounds (a habit I cannot break), tattoo parlors, my favorite froyo, a friend's banana-loving bulldogs, and animal shelters (a.k.a. futilely falling in love with a dog who is being adopted by someone else).

I also finally saw Black Swan and--much to my chagrin--really liked it. Nevertheless, I still think Natalie Portman is a blah actress and didn't deserve the Oscar. Haters gonna hate.

Oh, and one of my students turned me on to Mamba fruit chews. She calls them "ghetto candy," but I just googled them and they come from Germany, so......

I do feel somewhat foolish posting this amidst the situation in Japan, especially with what's now going on in Fukushima. Some awesome people on Etsy are donating percentages of their wares to relief efforts--N.E.E.T. has a list of some here, in addition to Jessica's shop--as is Steven Alan.

  3. That froyo photo made me die a little. And then I scrolled to the dogs... ahh! Thanks for the Monday cheer, it's well appreciated.

And I still have no desire to see Black Swan... even though I feel like the last person on the face of the planet who hasn't seen it.

  4. seriously, man, it's the best shit ever...and I felt the same about the movie, b/c I'm a huge hater and hate hyped up movies (usually)...but I love Aronofsky, and I should have thought of the fact that he directed it in the first place...

  8. duuuude, that's what I wanted to do! and I thought I was being original...well I guess not, since you're the one who thought of putting them on stickers...but I'm going to keep spreading the ones I have left around to the cities I'll be visiting in the next few months, so I shall be aiding the effort! you should make a blog out of this, where Lupo has visited, like the Amelie gnome...
